"Baseball Gal" CDThis swinging pop ode to America’s beloved sport has got folks tapping toes, swaying and smiling! Marilyn wrote the music and lyrics, Don Rebic once again is on target with the snappy arrangement and is on piano. Also shining again with MZ are Brian Glassman on bass and Danny Mallon on percussion. And new to the team is David Mann – with a sax solo you won’t forget!

Safe and Sound CD coverMarilyn's third CD, “Safe and Sound”, is now download-able at all digital online stores. It comprises all original music – 14 songs – that span a range of styles but tell one compelling story of loving. Perfectly balanced, it features jazzy uptempo treats, torchy blues ballads “Defenses Down” and “How Long Do I Hold On” – in the tradition of great American standards. There’s a rockabilly rendering of “Motorcycle Mister, ” a blazing bogey-wogey “Cryin’ on the 5:05,” and smooth Latin ballads “You Always Know” and “Mar y Sombra” – a tale of a magic night in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. And there are three unique, straight from the soul songs – including the title song “Safe and Sound” – a prayer and anthem of hope. All of Marilyn's moving lyrics are printed in the CD's included booklet.

Once again Marilyn has partnered with the masterful Don Rebic whose arrangements and orchestrations bring lush and moving color to the songs – and he’s just plain smokin’ at the piano! Brian Glassman’s bass is soulful and sonorous, and Chip Jackson’s bass take on “Taillights” is a delight. Dave Schiavone once again brings to the music his heart-throbbing saxophone and butterfly flute. You’ll enjoy three amazing percussionists: Eric Wills, Danny Mallon, and Carl Allen. And Joe Ravo does a screaming electric guitar on “Motorcycle Mister.” Special mention to Rene Antelmann for his artful mixing and engineering.

Thank you for sending this C.D. This is a terrific recording which takes the listener through an emotive mix of feelings and perceptions by the highly talented Ms Zavidow. Crafted with a good blend of styles and superbly arranged by Don Rebic coupled with Musicianship of the highest order, all serve to make this a class act. Ms Zavidow writing is clever and imaginative and her delivery throughout is excellent with good variation in Tempos. Well done to all.

Marilyn, l have listened to your cd “Safe And Sound” numerous times now and have immensely enjoyed it. You have a stunning sophisticated voice that is hypnotic to the listener as your wonderful voice and phrasing carries us from song to song, sublime. I love the feel your band provide in allowing your talent to remain the focus of the album. Perfect choice of material with beautiful arrangements by Mr. Don Rebic, he has placed you in a very special place with this album, a wonderfully dramatic place at that. Songs with love all around and sung with love, l would call it aural seduction. It will be my absolute pleasure to place your cd with our biggest Jazz shows.
